Rory and Granda have looked after one another ever since Rory’s dad walked out. These days it’s Rory who has to look after the old man, but both of them dread being split up – the thought of the old folks’ home and the children’s home is awful. But that’s exactly what happens when Granda sets fire to the flat, and Rory is galvanised into springing Granda and setting out on the run. It’s a great adventure and Granda’s in his element reliving old black and white war films. But where are they going, and where can they hide when their faces are plastered all over the newspapers and TV? Unexpected friends and surprise betrayals lurk round every corner.
